As part of my ongoing commitment to teach Natalie Goldberg’s writing practice I will offer writing prompts each month. Set a timer for ten minutes and write on one of the following topics. Repeat as often as desired (You won’t wear them out):
I remember…
I don’t remember…
I’m looking at…
I’m not looking at…
What I really want to say is…
In the event of my death…
For more guidance on how to do writing practice, read Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones, or Wild Mind. You may also contact me with questions by leaving comments below or emailing me at sharyndimmick@att.net
I am so glad I found your site! I hope you are currently still creating for this site. I love both of Natalie Goldberg’s books and her seven rules of writing. Her writing about writing has been my primary guide, as a writer!!
Take care- of, I am here for prompts, btw, lol!!
Karin
Hi Karin. WordPress won’t let me update the prompts (which Natalie always calls topics) page, so I never put any new ones up. But I teach writing practice in Natalie’s lineage: I run a group on Zoom on Monday mornings from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Pacific Time. We are currently in the middle of a quarter and my summer schedule isn’t firm yet.
